Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Crewster LLC ("Crewster," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our workforce management application and website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
Crewster provides scheduling, time tracking, and payroll-export tools for small businesses. When a business owner signs up, they become the account owner and may invite employees to join their team on the Service. If you are an employee using Crewster, the business you work for controls your account and much of the data associated with it.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and business details: business name, owner name, email address, phone number, and password when creating an account.
- Employee profile information: name, email, phone number, role, avatar color, and pay information (such as hourly rate or salary) entered by the business owner or the employee.
- Work data: shifts, clock-in and clock-out times, hours worked, job notes, time-off requests, and messages sent within the Service.
- Payment information: when a business subscribes, payment is processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not collect or store full card numbers ourselves; Stripe handles card details directly.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information: basic technical information such as device type and app interactions needed to operate the Service.
- Push notification tokens: if you enable notifications, we store a device token so we can deliver alerts (for example, a new shift or an approved request).
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- Create and manage accounts and businesses;
- Process subscription payments and manage trials through Stripe;
- Enable scheduling, time tracking, payroll export, messaging, and notifications;
- Communicate with you about your account, including service and support messages;
- Protect the security and integrity of the Service; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Within your business: information such as your name, schedule, and hours is visible to the owner and managers of the business you belong to, consistent with how a workplace scheduling tool works.
- Service providers: we use trusted third parties to operate Crewster, including Supabase (database and authentication hosting), Stripe (payment processing), and Expo (push notification delivery). These providers process data only to provide services to us.
- Legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Crewster, our users, or others.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Businesses may retain employee work records (such as hours worked) for their own recordkeeping and legal obligations, even after an employee is removed. You may request deletion of your information as described below, subject to those business and legal requirements.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can view and update much of your profile information directly in the app.
- Notifications: you can turn push notifications on or off through your device settings.
- Deletion: you may request that we delete your personal information by contacting us at the email below. Note that if you are an employee, some records are controlled by your employer and may be retained by them.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
8. Children's privacy
Crewster is intended for use by businesses and their employees and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated through the Service.
